Franchising Industry Trends in 2006

Franchising industry has taken some hits in recent decades. Some come from burdensome regulations and piss poor performance of institutions such as the Franchise Group of the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Protection Division where some believe Steve Topography has done so much damage to the industry that he should resign in disgrace and loss of pension. But others applauded the efforts of this man to work with industry to develop the law and lawyers, who will keep the FTC in the position of the referee.

The Federal Trade Commission has not been prosecuted or attempted to prosecute cases of the franchise since 2000 that I realized after botching one company and accused some of the things that they did not. Fortunately the franchise industry somewhat straightened up just by nature. That is to say that if the franchisor does not make them successful franchisees will fail, because of the lack of royalty payments from franchisees that are not profitable or out of business.

In addition to such crimes against free enterprise we need to establish a prison sentence for the bureaucrats. So think of this in 2006.

In Franchising the Best Man Should Win, Even when that Man is a Woman

Many franchisors in franchise modern day believe that they must have a certain percentage of women and minorities in franchising them and always make sure to recruit prospective new franchise in that ratio. I

as far as believing in equal opportunity, I do not think so, I do not believe it. I believe “the best man win”, and many times that of a woman. I chose the franchisee team members the best I can. I have to. We have come too far and worked too hard to settle for anything less.

As far as the comments of color, so I’m not politically correct, never have and since I have 100% of the company, no one can fire me. So I tend to comment on things I see with an open mind.

We need so many Cubans, so many American Indians; Jews are so many and so many Hispanic franchisees.

Franchising and New Franchisee Set-up

Many new franchisors fall in the stage set-up franchisees. This is the phase where the new franchisee has to pay their fees and is now entering the system. They also will get the equipment or buildings

the best new franchisor should do is to keep asking for new franchisees what they can do better to help them. Of course they will ask for the world and if you give them everything good is not good either as:

A.) You’ll go broke Tried

B.) If you give them everything that you will make them weak

when we first began to build the franchise in 1997 we learned the hard way, but in mid-1999 we had a pretty good idea. Here is one criticism we got from new franchisees, which helped wake us up. We ask what we can do better in the early stage start-ups. Here is what they stated:

“When someone has agreed she could use someone to take a walk through the entire process. I can also use a list of vendors who build up my truck, get the wheels etc. The schedule of payments, putting when one needs to have money ready for what will be very useful. When you read the UFOC it appears that the money would be paid up front, but really it will be put in the pieces I want to know clearly and up front how it will go,. when I can expect a different part of the transaction occurs, at least in chronological order if no specific date And when the bed is complete.,
